Answer
The Type 17 minor faults were added to the controller in Version 18 of RSLogix 5000.
As the controller runs, in the background, many diagnostics on the controller. The controller needs to make sure that each diagnostic completes within 8 hours. If a diagnostic does not complete within the 8 hour time limit a Type 17 minor fault will be logged. The code indicates which diagnostic failed to complete. Below are the error codes and fixes:
- Type 17 Code 24
- In Version 20.011 firmware there is an anomaly dealing with the initialization of one diagnostics
- This was fixed in Version 20.012
- Type 17 Code 11
- In Version 20.054, 20.055, and 20.056 this will be logged. This is a nuisance anomaly.
- Fixed in V20.057
- Fixed in V24.052
